Free bush campground 11km west of Mapleton. You will see them on the right and left hand side of the Obi Obi Creek road just before the bridge crossing Obi Obi Creek. Toilets.

Large, deep, tranquil pool (apart from the odd car) under and upstream of the rustic wooden bridge. large enough for a proper swim and even a few laps. Pretty birdsong.  A couple minutes walk from either campground. From one campground  you access the swimming hole by scrambling down the bank over some rocks or by crossing the bridge to the other campground and walking slightly upstream to the deeper part of the river. The river is surrounded by farmland and some overhanging trees and there is a long sandy, pebbly area downstream of the bridge near one campground where people have fires so this would be the place to hang out and then go up tot he pool for a swim. Lomandra longifolia on the banks. Great stop-off on the way to somewhere else as it’s in between places and you can camp there for a stopover and have a little swim before bed or in the morning.
